Design Progress | Week 2

This week, I updated the project website’s progress log so that entries now appear under both subcategories, Senior Proposal and Senior Design, without affecting the functionality of previous posts. I also began 3D printing the front plate for the NAVI project.
The first four attempts were unsuccessful: the initial print failed due to a shift that occurred during the second half of the process, the second and third prints failed early on because of an imbalanced print bed that caused additional shifting, and the fourth print did not properly form the IR sensor housing, preventing the sensors from fitting into the mounts. The fifth attempt was successful, with all IR sensors fitting securely into their designated slots. In addition,
I started printing the second and third major components, the component housing as well as the collector, for further clarity on the utilization of these pieces to the whole project. These components are still in printing progress.
